Adaptation Finance Academy (AFA)
AFA trains the next generation of finance professionals able to structure, fund and deliver climate resilience projects across the African continent.
A curriculum devoted entirely to climate adaptation finance — a field still rarely taught, yet in high demand for skills across Africa.
Financial modelling, adaptation project appraisal, non-financial reporting: expertise you can put to work from day one.
Case studies grounded in African realities, aligned with international climate finance standards.
Small cohorts, one-to-one guidance and an end-to-end digital platform — from application through to graduation.

To scale up climate adaptation action in Africa and strengthen the capacity of African institutions to develop bankable projects.
The Adaptation Finance Academy works to scale up adaptation action across the continent by supporting the design and delivery of dedicated programmes, while substantially strengthening the capacity of African institutions to lead this work themselves and generate bankable projects. A programme delivered jointly with Sustainable Solutions for Africa (SSA).
Our academy turns that mission into education: it connects core financial expertise to the realities of resilience, climate risk management and the structuring of fundable adaptation projects.
Graduates go on to join banks, investment funds, public institutions, NGOs and companies that design and finance adaptation projects across Africa.
